- Ten finalists will be published in a special summer edition of SCRATCH Magazine
- Cash prize of $1000 for the grand prize winner chosen by the Selection Committee;
- Cash prize of $500 for the runner up chosen by the Selection Committee;
- $100 gift certificate from a Book Store located in the Columbia River Basin for published finalists other than the grand prize and runner up winners;
- $300 gift certificate from a Book Store located in the Columbia River Basin for the Reader's Choice Award determined by the story which receives the largest number of votes online.
