Snow Storm, Holiday, Christmas, Snow, family
After being trapped in the mansion for three days, Carla’s Christmas wasn’t looking so merry. The staff was getting irritable and not caring to the guests needs as they should. Her grandmother had recently passed away so now she, her parents, and her brother were snowed in in Montana.
“Mom, this isn’t Christmas. We’d go to Grammy’s house with the whole family to enjoy the holidays; here we’re just one of four random families, sharing meals with people we don’t know.”
“I know them fairly well now, Barbra has a son who’s serving overseas, and George lost his wife four years ago so he and his new wife-“
“Stop it! This isn’t Christmas, you know it!”
Carla’s mother stayed by the fire while her daughter stormed up the stairs to their rooms. Carla couldn’t be in this house anymore. She grabbed the winter gear her parents had bought for her for the trip and started layering.
Carla snuck out the kitchen’s door into the storm that was brewing. She marched on, having snow piling into her boots with every step she took, and walked as far as she could, trying to get away and clear her head. But the snow was blowing so hard she didn’t know which direction she was going. She heard the earth crackle beneath her and knew that she had found the lake.
