A glass road

Charming the world with a smile so innocent,
speaking words with a careful voice,
walking a path only you can follow;
glass road as if you’re the only fragile
Heart pumping without compassion,
mouth breathing undeserved air,
actions hurting lives,
eyes watching with a torturer’s stare.
Mind rests peacefully
in a world unfair.
Taking what you want,
leaving behind what you’ve destroyed,
picking up untainted souls
to become your new toys.
You play them until they’re worn,
you hold on even when they’re falling apart,
only when they are broken
do you move on to a new naive heart.
And if the broken find some repair,
if they happen to come across any salvation,
you make it a need of yours
to wedge your little dirty hands
into untainted creations.
Unrelentless you pry
at love that is no longer yours,
like the serpent you are you try
to disguise yourself
as pure.
You pray on souls close
to a man brushing his shoulders
daily to the dust
you leave in your tracks.
You don’t mind dropping boulders
on paths you’ll never travel
you don’t mind throwing gravel
in faces of victors.
In the faces of love.
You plan attacks on the backs of people once true,
but after all…
all we are
are toys to you…
