an unexpected monster - by thomas clare

It looked repulsive. Imagine the most disgusting thing in the world and guaranteed it was ten thousand times worse. You could almost call it human if it wasn’t so damn ugly. Worst of all, it just popped out of nowhere and started wailing like a newborn child.  The toxic fumes that wafted off the body were nauseating; I hate it and everything about it, its wet strands of hair sticking straight up as if it was shocked by 1000 volts. It should have been put out of misery, out of my misery.
“Honey it’s a boy.”
“Oh joy…”

you feel weightless - by thomas clare

You are standing at the edge of a very steep drop. Peering over, you see a tiny stream trickling through the valley beneath you. You look around; perfect, no one is here to stop you to give you a second thought. You listen curiously to hear any sign of footsteps, but the only thing you hear is the cold wind whistling through your ears. You run your fingers through your hair recounting the events that got you to this place. This horrid, dark place, where roses are bred to prick you, where razors are only sold to cut you, where…

what a silly little plonker of a fuzzlewizzleplonkadonk - by thomas clare

A purple fuzzlewizzleplonkadonk,
Whizzed down the street,
Ran around a corner,
Climbed up a tree.
The purple fuzzlewizzleplonkadonk
Stole a doughnut from a shop,
Picked an apple from a tree,
Ate a burger from a stand.
That purple fuzzlewizzleplonkadonk
What a little plonker,
What a silly little plonkadonk,
With that purple fuzzlewizzle.

obsessed with you - by thomas clare

I don’t have to eat for days on end, and when I see food I can turn away. I don’t have to sleep for days on end and when I see my bed I can look away. But with you I cant. Your everywhere; but nowhere In my dreams, in my head and in my face, and I hate you for it, Because when I turn away your there, when I look away your still there. When I see you with him all I want to do is jump in front of the semi speeding down the highway. Tie the…

To Oliver - by Danika Skye Hammond

I smile when you smile, I laugh when you laugh, I’ll do what ever you ask, You’ve got me wrapped around your finger, You’ve got me thinking of you all the time, You make my heart explode when you shine, My love wraps around you, My need for you stretches, My mind when it thinks of you catches, We have our lives connected, We share the same blood and skin, We could have more in common things, I watch you as you run, Run about on your little legs, Legs that will help you knock down life’s pegs, You play…

Lyrics to a Positive Poem! - by Danika Skye Hammond

Turn off your mind,
Go below the surface,
Hide your head in the sand,
Then shine a little love on your life,
We can have the world,
You don’t need sunshine to turn the sky to blue,
Change your mind,
You could have it all if you wanted,
I thought it would be hard but I’m OK,
Besides rain will make the flowers grow,
You don’t want to fall to pieces,
So don’t make it bad,
Take a sad song and make it better,
It may sound absurd,
Cause it’s not easy,
But it is possible,

Wild is the Wind - by Sadye Butler

Caress a pink rose petal
Drifting in the winds of innocence
Take me somewhere I belong
Midnight strolls into daylight
A picnic basket on her arm
Quietly slipping away
Twisting the thorns of emotions
Naïve sense of wonder
Taking me somewhere I don’t belong
Starless night and a little girls cry
Soft as ivory
Pure as first snowfall
These are times we forget all about
Who we are
And just let go

Need - by Sadye Butler

You could help me Heal me even But you have a quality that blinds me From seeing who I really am Like a diamond in the sun You’re beauty cannot be re-drawn You’re past cannot be un-done Trapping slivers of your grace In threads in my sweater So that I can hold you close And feel a little better Eyes like a rain forest Too deep to venture into the depth I can’t see what you hide But then again I know you too well So much that I know turning back Is a mistake That in order to leave…

The Man Without Jewels - by Daniel Levesque

All of the marionette’s deepest regrets spill forth like the waves on the rocks of the inlet where I sit, where I wish, and where I can get reminiscent memories of the time we met the places that we went, sin’s i’ve yet to repent piling up like death wishes and letters unsent but addressed completely, clearly, and penned with great care I scream out to God, he’s got to hear me somewhere [stanza break] poison’s dripping off the fangs of a snake in the grass tryin’ not to crack up, but I can never run fast enough to get…

The Sky - by Daniel Levesque

we all could leave the old world and start life anew but it’s not that easy when the ghost’s after you watch where your feet land and where you lay shoes cause soon enough and sure as trust it will be time to choose have a faithful heart, and a watchful eye, that’s if you want a chance cause the sinful nature’s takes any route inside you to advance hold your head up high, toward the sky and try to just conceive a life without all the things that make it harder to believe remember being young, having fun, and…
